2012 Progress Towards Eliminating Healthcare-Associated Infections Meeting: Register Today

Join us at the Washington Marriott Hotel on October 30, 2012, where the Office of Healthcare Quality will host the second Progress Towards Eliminating Healthcare-Associated Infections stakeholder meeting to:
  • Review progress towards achieving the five-year national healthcare-associated infection (HAI) prevention targets for reducing the incidence of specific HAIs established in the National Action Plan to Prevent Healthcare-Associated Infections: Roadmap to Elimination in September 2008;
  • Introduce the Phase III Chapter: Long-Term Care Facilities of the revised and expanded National Action Plan to Prevent Healthcare-Associated Infections: Roadmap to Elimination;
  • Provide updates on measures and prevention goals for Ambulatory Surgical Centers, End-Stage Renal Disease Facilities, Influenza Vaccination of Healthcare Workers, and Long-Term Care Facilities, as well as for reducing ventilator-associated events;
  • Discuss how to sustain and accelerate progress toward the national targets for elimination of healthcare-associated infections in acute care hospitals; and,
  • Discuss what should be done to sustain and accelerate progress toward the broader goals of the HAI Action Plan, within the context of interventions across settings of care, HAI surveillance as patients transition across settings and communities, patient engagement and activation, coordination of federal programs, and the role of the environment in HAI prevention.
Additional information about the meeting, including the Agenda At-A-Glance and how to register, is available at the 2012 Progress Towards Eliminating Healthcare-Associated Infections Meeting webpage. We encourage early registration- space is limited.
