Disability.gov Update: HHS Announces New Affordable Care Act Options for Community-Based Care

HHS Announces New Affordable Care Act Options for Community-Based Care
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced new ways for people to receive care and services in their communities instead of being admitted to a hospital or nursing home. HHS has finalized the Community First Choice rule, a new state plan option under Medicaid, and announced the participants in the Independence At Home Demonstration program. This program encourages health care providers to provide home-based care to chronically ill Medicare patients so they can stay in their homes while receiving medical care.
Visit Disability.gov for more information about Medicare, Medicaid, long-term care and other health care subjects.
